a horseback ride, go ice climbing or zip around on
a snowmobile. Theres a tubing park in St. Jovite.
For a true Nordic experience, visit nearby Le Scandinave
(425-5524) and wallow in the Scandinavian baths. The theory
is simple: warm up your body, then close your skins pores
by chilling the body rapidly, then relax in a heated environment.
Start in a Finnish sauna or steam bath, then plunge into cold water
by running under a waterfall, diving into a pool or dipping into
the river that runs through this forest retreat. To warm back up,
sit in the outdoor hot tub or return to the sauna or steam bath.
Repeat all this as necessary! Two or three hours of this surprisingly
affordable indulgence leaves you thoroughly refreshed .

The Spa-sur-le-Lac at Club Tremblant (425-8341) offers a more traditional experience with 11 body-care and aesthetic rooms and
a beauty salon. The Amerispa Le Westin Resort Tremblant (681-7080)
and The Fairmont Tremblant (681-7680) offer complete spa services
including facials, manicures and massages.
Aquaclub
La Source (681-5668), billed as A Lake in the Laurentians,
lets guests escape winter. This family-oriented spa includes an
exercise room and a lake created to evoke the Laurentian
outdoors complete with beach, waterfall and Tarzan-style
rope swing. The Spa at the Activity Centre (681-4848) has sauna,
steam bath, outdoor hot tubs, massage and other services for
those age 18 and older.
The village has about 45 shops. Some of the fanciest are
in the Fairmont Tremblant. Chocoholics will want to make fast tracks
to the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, where theyll find
creamy fudge and crunchy toffee. The village also has a two-screen
movie theater.
To book any activity, call the Activity Center, (866) 356-2242
