Mountain Layout Snowboarding
Mount
Sunapee has a large snowboarding community - and it's not confined to the young
and restless. Ski patrollers and instructors of all ages foster
an excellent pro-boarding attitude. The resort is great for those
who love to cruise, with classic runs that follow the rhythm of the mountain.
Outer Ridge and Upper Ridge skirt the area boundary, providing the
longest cruisers on the mountain. The glades, such as Sunrise, Ridge
and Summit Glades, offer attention-getting vertical. With minimum
crowds, they are lots of fun.
Parks and pipes
With its Freeride Zone, which is serviced by its own 2000-foot triple chair, Mount Sunapee provides two trails with fun features for all levels of skiers and riders. Rank beginners can head to the beginner terrain park on Calypso trail in the South Peak area. Created entirely from snow, the Calypso park features bumps, rollers, and berms. All parks are groomed and maintained daily.
On Pipeline and Jet Stream in the Freeride Zone, skiers and riders will find something for every ability. The Pipeline side is built with smaller jumps for beginner freestylers. With a set of rollers at the top of the run leading into smaller jumps, it's a good place for beginners to learn how to maneuver in the air. The jumps on Jetstream range from intermediate to expert. These jumps are step-downs and tabletops. Rails are handcrafted at Mount Sunapee and take on many different shapes and sizes from the 45-foot S-rail to the 50-foot flat rail. At the bottom of Jet Stream is a 400-foot half pipe with 13-foot walls. Competitions and jams are scheduled throughout the winter season.
The Super Pipe is 650 feet
long with 18-foot walls.
