Dining
Mount Sunapee has four eating areas on the mountain:
Sunapee Cafeteria, in the Sunapee Lodge in the base area with cafeteria-style eating.
The Spruce Lodge Cafeteria, in the Spruce Lodge in the base area with cafeteria-style eating.
Goosefeathers
Pub is upstairs in the Spruce Lodge and offers sit-down
waitstaff service and alcoholic beverages. Apres-ski munchies are
available after 3 p.m., and apres-ski entertainment kicks things up
a notch on weekends.
Summit Lodge serves cafeteria-style food, beverages, beer
and wine and is right off the Sunapee Express Lift. The Summit is
open for breakfast and lunch.
In nearby New London, stop by Jack's of New London (526-8003, $$) on Main Street for a great casual lunch spot (or for Sunday brunch) that transforms into a cute bistro at night offering several tasting menus, such as wine tasting menu, with smoked scallop carpaccio as an appetizer and crab ahi tuna medallions as an entree, or the small farm cheese tasting menu, featuring a Champlain Valley Creamery ricotta salata and apple cheddar stuffed pork tenderloin.
Another Main Street mainstay is Peter Christian's Tavern (526-4042, $$), with its handhewn booths and homemade soups and hearty beef stew, plus many vegetarian offerings. If you like mustard, be sure and pick up a jar of the tavern's own to take home—yummy! For more elegant dining, the New London Inn (526-2791, $$-$$$) on Main Street has creative combinations.
In Sunapee, the Inn at Sunapee (763-4444, $$-$$$) offers seasonal specialties with a hint of the Far East, where its owners lived for 29 years.
Check out the local Chamber
of Commerce dining page for an idea of eating opportunities
in the surrounding towns of New London, Sunapee Harbor, Newbury,
Goshen and Bradford.
